that's my current mileage for 2012.
I should be at 214.
Pretty damn good, I say.
Thinking about it now I should have started on day one by taking my measurements and such - hindsight is 20/20 after all, and i've left 202 km's 'hind.
I've spent the last 5 days nursing 2 of my children back from the brink of death...though I still managed to break free for at least 5k a day. I'm grateful for my husband for sure, because sickness can be a giant deal breaker when it comes tying up my laces.
It's STILL winter, and although it has been unseasonably mild there is still a chill out there - and it's dark and mostly I don't feel like getting murdered.
Not all the time any ways..
Last night I decided I would split my run up - half on the pavement, half on the treadmill. Since I was 8 km's from 200 I thought an even split of 4/4 would be delicious! Since my kids have been sick my recent 5k's weren't really the best I could do, and I needed a really hardcore workout...and so that it was I did. 4km outside was wondrous, I could have probably done the entire 8km but decided I would stick to the original plan.
Then it was treadmill time.
I know some people just simply do not love the treadmill. I bought mine just for the occasions when I couldn't go outside. But now the mere suggestion that the giant machine taking up an annoying portion of my rec room should be banished sends me into a panic. I LOVE MY TREADMILL. I LOVE the crazy insane workout I can achieve without worrying about potholes, pebbles, twigs, cars, or small children. Running on my treadmill allows me the freedom to lose myself without fear. I can dance on that thing like nobody else.
I ran an additional 6km's - and only stopped because I had to pick up my son. I was a sweaty, sweaty mess..and so very happy.

Update!
Last Monday I set a goal of 25 km's for the week. And what a week it was!
I work a desk job from 8:30 - 4:30 M-F..which is so horrible and sedentary! I DO love my paycheque, so instead of quitting so I can run my life away I am trying to fit it into my work schedule. Instead of walking to the cafeteria mid-morning for a tea I took to the streets and walked to McDonalds to get one - there and back? 1 km..I get a half hour for lunch, which I take mid afternoon - but I work in a really high traffic area AND beside a highway - so I only get in 3 kms.
That's 4 km's a day I wouldn't have walked - so i'll take it. Did I mention that my walking pace is not much slower than my running pace? I'm a machine.
The weather was perfect - aside from some cold wind - my total for the week was 54 km's, above my goal.
My total for 2012 is now 118 km's & to keep on pace for my yearly goal of 1500 I need to make up 35 km's while maintaining a 4.11 km/day average.
I love running.

2012 = 1500 - January UPDATE!
It's February 1st - hoorah!
I though it would be a good time to update you on my 2012 goal of 1500 km's.
My total for January: 76 km's - that's 49 km's less than I should have run in a month if I average out the effort. I honestly didn't put in a lot of extra effort to even get to 76, and so now I vow to make up the difference in February. That will be interesting since there are 3 less days.
I'm not feeling too discouraged however, since it's January and I'm sure I'll get a lot more running in once the weather warms up - not that its been too terrible for us this winter anyway.
SO - 76 down - 1424 to go!
I need some new running music - what do you suggest?
